Copain - Syrah Harrison Clark Vineyard 2006Earthy blackberry fruit mixes with chalk, blue flowers and tapenade on the nose. Mineral laden framboise fruit and hints of black pepper are pure and clean on the palate with evident grip, supple fine grain tannins and sound acidity. This syrah has such a vibrant core of minerality from start to finish which speaks of its chalky site. Decanting is recommended for early consumption as the wine has the stuffing to age for 10-12 years. 93 Points from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate Regular Price: $44.99 On sale: $34.99 (while supply lasts) |
Ben Glaetzer “The Bishop” 2006 The 2006 Bishop was sourced from 60-year-old vines and aged for 14 months in used French and American oak. Purple/black in color, it has an expressive nose of cedar, smoke, game, bacon, and blueberry. On the palate this medium to full-bodied wine is tightly wound but has all the right stuff. There are tons of ripe fruit and silky tannin, excellent balance and a long finish, but the wine will need 8-10 years to fully display its personality. It will easily last through 2036. 92-94 Points Jay Miller –The Wine Advocate 92 Points Josh Reynolds –Stephan Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar 94 Points James Halliday –The Australian Wine Companion Regular Price: $39.99 On sale: $31.99 (while supply lasts) |
